International Day of Climate Action

The 350 International Day of Climate Action, Saturday October 24th, at Maroubra Beach.

All across the world on Saturday October 24th, people will be taking action to demonstrate and call for a world safe from dangerous climate change.

You can join in the fun at Maroubra beach (south end, meet at skate park) at 3pm:

- help plant native seedlings -
- enjoy delicious climate-friendly snacks -
- enjoy and take part in some fabulous drumming -
- take part in a 350 photo petition -
- wear enclosed footwear, long sleeves and pants, sunscreen and a hat -
- bring your own water bottle -

The International Day of Climate Action is an initiative of 350.org – a global grass roots climate network.  350 refers to 350 parts per million, which is the atmospheric concentration that leading scientists, climate experts, and some governments say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide.  See www.350.org for more information.

The Maroubra Beach event is organised by the South East Climate Action Coalition (SECAC), a growing coalition of climate-concerned individuals and local groups in Sydney’s south eastern suburbs.  The event is supported by Randwick City Council.  For more information about the day, see the leaflet on this page.
